Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any insulation work D&K Davenport Insulation Company does for you. When you use the site, ask for an estimate or book work with us, you agree to them, so if you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
On this page, "we," "us" and "our" mean D&K Davenport Insulation Company, and "you" means the person using the site or the property owner who hires us.
The services we offer
We're an insulation contractor in Davenport, IA, working on homes and businesses in Davenport and the cities around it in Iowa and Illinois. Our work includes attic, wall, crawl space and basement insulation, blown-in insulation, spray foam, air sealing, vapor barriers and insulation removal, and the home page lists every service we offer.
We're licensed and insured, and our About page tells you more about who we are. What this site says about insulation is general information, not an offer for a particular job, because the exact scope of your job is set in your written estimate or contract.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free on-site visits with no pressure and no obligation. We base each price on what we see at your house, such as how much insulation is already in place, how easy the attic or crawl space is to reach, whether old material has to come out and how many gaps need sealing first.
If we open up the job and find something we couldn't see during the estimate, like soaked insulation, rodent droppings or damaged framing, we'll stop, show you and give you a written change before doing extra work. We won't charge for added work you haven't approved, and the price on an estimate covers only the work listed on it for the time stated on it.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We set a start date with you once you accept the estimate. Weather, material deliveries and what we find on the job can move that date, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area, keep pets and children away from it and let us know about anything we should avoid, such as stored items in the attic or known wiring issues. On spray foam jobs, everyone in the house, pets included, has to stay out until the re-entry time, the wait before it's safe to come back inside, has passed. We'll tell you how long that is based on the foam maker's instructions, and you agree to follow it.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (563) 265-6737 as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials for your job or our crew has arrived, we may charge for those costs as your contract describes.
Payment terms
Payment is due as written on your estimate or contract. Some jobs call for a deposit before we order materials, and the balance is due when the work is finished unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.
If a payment is late, we may charge reasonable collection costs where the law allows it.
Warranties and what we don't promise
We stand behind our work, so if something about it isn't right, call us and we'll come back to look at it. Any written warranty on our labor is stated in your contract, and warranties on materials come from the companies that make them, on their terms.
Apart from what's written in your contract, our work and this website are provided as they are, without other warranties, express or implied, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise a specific drop in your power bill or a set comfort level in any room, because results depend on your house, your heating and cooling system and how you use them.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your home or lost profits, tied to our work or this website. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We aren't responsible for conditions that existed before we started, such as hidden roof or plumbing leaks, mold, pests, wiring problems or structural damage, though we'll tell you about anything we notice. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under the law.
Using this website
We try to keep this site accurate, but it may contain errors or outdated details, so please confirm anything important with us before you rely on it. Don't misuse the site, copy its content for commercial use or try to interfere with how it works.
How we settle disagreements
If you have a problem with our work or a bill, call us first, because most issues get fixed with a visit and a straight conversation. We respond within 1 business day.
If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court. Either of us can still bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies there.
Which state's law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law. Any court case about them will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Scott County, Iowa, unless the law requires a different place.
For work at a property in Illinois, any Illinois consumer protection that can't be waived still applies to that job.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Changes apply to site use and estimates after they're posted, and they don't change a signed contract unless we both agree in writing.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Where these terms and your signed contract differ, the contract controls.
